Lucy Light to the rescue!

Now that this PRECIOUS girl has been rescued, she'd love to rescue you from boredom and a snuggle-less life! Lucy appears to be a German Pinscher/Rat Terrier mix about 1 year old, and she's VERY sweet and snuggly! Her face and head are reminiscent of a Chihuahua. She's such a gorgeous, quiet girl who's diligently working on her house training, is already crate trained and needs work on her leash walking - she tends to pull and zig-zag. Until she's potty-trained it's best if she is crated at night and anytime she's home alone. She's great with other dogs, though she will show a snip here and there if they bug her too much. She;s not good with cats - she barks and chases them every time she sees them. She has been playful with children she's met! She told us that she's very excited about taking an obedience class with her new people so she can learn even more stuff than she already knows - "sit" and "shake" are already in her bag of tricks. It'll be a good opportunity to do a bit of socializing with other dogs and people, build up her confidence further and get in some great bonding time with her forever humans. She can be a little timid and shy in new situations and with new people (she tends to bark at them - just to let you know they're new), but once comfortable is the most loving, playful and happy pup! She'll need some help learning that jumping up on people is not good manners, and it would be better if she didn't "relocate" her human's shoes (she doesn't chew them), but she's a smart little cookie so that should be no problem - and a few high value treats may just help. Though a fenced yard is the ideal safe place for your pup to romp and play, if it's not an option then plenty of daily leash walks and some opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park are the next best thing. For Lucy a 6-ft. fence would be needed as she can jump a 3-ft. fence like it's not there - can you say, "fantastic agility dog"?

Dogs of all ages benefit from mental exercise, too - think puzzle toys, busy feeders and games.

Lucy's favorite things are laptime, going for walks, cuddling, playgroup, chilling out after playtime, and cratetime. She rides calmly in the car, loose. She's such a good girl and eager to learn - she just needs help working on her manners.

Lucy was found wandering around and was picked up by animal control as a stray. She was adopted by a couple in Texas who have since decided that having a dog is just not for them. The thought of finding her forever home and forever people gives her life purpose. If you need a little snuggle partner and some rescuing from boredom, fill out an application for Lucy Light! She'll be waiting just for you!
